I haven’t noticed it smearing onto her swimsuits and leaving stains or coming off in the water the way other lotions or sunscreens do. After a minute or two, it has fully set in and she doesn’t feel slippery. I especially like it for the pool or beach since it’s faster to apply all over than a stick, and I feel really confident that I’m not missing any spots. I like that I don’t have to keep rubbing her little baby legs forever, which is getting harder and harder to do by the way. The mineral sunscreen goes on slightly white so that I can be sure I’ve applied it all over my daughter’s skin, but it doesn’t stay that way for long. We’re both as sensitive as they come, and neither of us has experienced redness or itching with this one. (Which actually surprised me, since I had an immediate reaction to the brand’s chemical formula I tried.) It’s as gentle on my baby’s face as it is on mine. I’ve been using this La Roche-Posay mineral formula since April, and it’s my favorite of them all for my baby and for me, too. Twenty sunscreens in total, and those are just the ones I kept formal notes on. That includes the good and the bad, the sticky and the chalky. My 4-month update: I’ve tested a lot of sunscreens this year between mineral formulas for this story and the best face sunscreens. Even though it’s thick and hydrating, it spreads evenly and dries quickly to a soft, smooth finish.
